Japanese Girl's Day Festival Puppets

My delightful Year 1 class this afternoon has the enjoyment of exploring Japanese Girl's Day festival much to the char grin of the boys, till I informed them that next week we would cover Boy's Day festival.....(smiles all round after that!) Each student was then interested in creating their own Japanese inspired Geisha or Samurai puppet. I believe they are ever so cute....Here below are two other Ringle Tingle Tigers paintings from the other Year 2 Class. Again the trial of mixing secondary colours.... yes i know nasty teacher I am, making students learn!!!! Not bad!!! that is what I have to say...

Ringle Tingle Tiger Painting...

Back again for Term 3 and the week has started well.... Check out the wonderful painting created by the very knowledgeable year 2's. I read a story about Indian tigers in the jungle and student had to paint a tiger using only the 3 primary colour and black- a real challenge as students had to mix their own orange and green paint up...........I knew they were up for it as we had covered mixing secondary colour at the end of last Term so they should have been professionals at it!
Now i think the tigers turned out pretty awesome- Grrrrrrrrrrrowl!!!!!!!
